Employment Explorations Class -

Vocational Class & Social Engagement 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

The Employment Explorations Class is an inclusive, hands-on program designed to help adults with special needs build foundational vocational skills while strengthening social interaction and workplace readiness. This class is open to the general public and provides participants with meaningful opportunities to explore various employment-related tasks in a supportive, structured, and encouraging environment. The class is open to the general public and welcomes adults who are interested in developing vocational and social skills in an inclusive setting.

Art Enrichment Program 

Mondays from 2:00-3:30

The Inclusive Art Enrichment Program is a dynamic, hands-on creative experience designed specifically for adults with special needs. This engaging program fosters self-expression, skill-building, and confidence through a variety of visual art mediums in a supportive and inclusive environment. Participants will explore and develop their artistic talents through a diverse schedule of activities including:

  • Pottery

  • Painting

  • Photography

  • Multimedia Arts

Gaming Club

Fridays 2:00-3:30 pm

Inclusive Gaming Enrichment Program 

The Inclusive Gaming Enrichment Program is a dynamic and engaging experience designed specifically for adults with special needs, offering a supportive environment where participants can explore the world of games while building social, cognitive, and problem-solving skills. This program promotes inclusion, teamwork, and creativity through a wide variety of accessible and age-appropriate gaming activities.

Activities Include:

  • Video Gaming: Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Wii – Atari Flashback Console

  • Tabletop Gaming:Chess & Checkers – Board Games – Card Games 

  • Community Outings: Arcades- Silver Ball-Museums

Feel the Beat Drumming Program

Tuesdays from 2:00-3:30pm

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Feel the Beat! Get ready to move, groove, and connect through sound in Feel the Beat, a joyful and sensory-rich music experience designed for adults with special needs. Centered around the world of percussion, this class invites participants to explore rhythm, expression, and connection through hands-on music-making in a supportive and inclusive environment. Whether you’re tapping out your first beat or dancing along to a familiar tune, Feel the Beat offers a fun, therapeutic, and creative way to experience music like never before.

Activities Include:

  • Drumming Circles – Group-based percussion play using drums and hand percussion 

  • Recording Studio once per month. 

  •  Rhythm & Relaxation – Use soft percussion to promote calm and mindfulness

  • Movement with Music – Combine rhythm and motion for a fun, full-body experience

Pool  Club

Thursdays  2:00-3:30 pm

Pool Club is a refreshing and fun-filled inclusive program designed for adults with special needs to enjoy time in the water while building confidence, coordination, and friendships. Held at  Genesis Health Club, this club offers a safe and supportive space to relax, move, and make the most of time in the water.

Activities Include:

  • Recreational swimming

  • Water play

  • Lunch Poolside

  • Pool games

  • Social time and group activities by the pool

  • Water Safety

Total Wellbeing –

Mondays From 11:30-2:00pm

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Next Steps Total Wellbeing Tutoring program is a comprehensive and inclusive program designed specifically for adults with and without special needs over the age of 21. This program aims to enhance the overall well-being of participants by integrating various therapeutic and educational activities. Our holistic approach combines nutrition-based training, social skills training, grocery shopping and meal preparation, community integration, art and music therapy, and adaptive physical wellness, including yoga and dance. Each session is tailored to meet the unique needs of our participants, fostering personal growth, social connection, and a healthy lifestyle.

Social Club

Wednesdays 2:00-3:30 pm

The Social Clubis a welcoming, inclusive program designed to provide adults with special needs over the age of 21 a safe and supportive space to build friendships, develop social skills, and engage in fun, meaningful activities. Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging and community through regular gatherings that promote creativity, self-expression, and connection. Clients involved in this program will build lasting friendships, improve communication and interpersonal skills, increase confidence and independence and enjoy structured and safe social outings.
